I joined The King's Academy when it opened in September 2003 having spent 12 years at Coulby Newham Secondary School. The experience I gained enabled an easy transition into The King's Academy and new challenges to be faced.
It is fair to say that everyone works very hard at The King's Academy but, if you are willing to put in the time, you will reap the benefits in terms of your job satisfaction and career development. It is very rewarding to see the students being given fantastic opportunities and having access to the best facilities. It is wonderful to see the students improve and excel and their evident sense of pride as they progress through the academic years. There is nothing more satisfying than that.
In my job, no two days are alike. It is busy, both challenging and exciting. As PA to the Principal, I manage a team of administrative staff and we are all very supportive of each other. There is an amazing collective team spirit throughout the entire staff - both teaching and non-teaching. Consequently, it encourages a positive working environment that directly impacts on morale and the students' school and learning experience. There is a sense of pride amongst teachers and students alike, as we are all striving to achieve our "personal best".
I have a genuine interest in the needs of the Academy, the students and of course the teaching staff. Every person makes a difference, and this gives me enormous job satisfaction.
